It always amazes me how some of these companies will tell us that the best abdominal exercises we can do are crunches and sit-ups. A big misconception going on says that you need to do ab workouts to see a six pack. Its funny because you can literally do hundreds of crunches everyday and never see a ab poke out.If you have a flabby stomach then you will never be able to see the fruits of your labor. This is why I stay away from companies that will tell me that I can lose weight by doing ab exercises.
So how does one go about having a flat stomach? Most importantly, you need to start looking at your eating habits. There is a simple process that you must follow in order to lose weight. You need to balance out how many carbs, vegetables, fruits, fats, and protein you intake in a particular day. If you wanted to you could try one of these "fad" diets and lose weight for the sunny season or you can be in fabulous shape for the rest of your life. I overheard that some of the people on the Biggest Loser tv show actually gained back all their weight. In all honesty I knew that they would though because of the type of training and nutrition that they had. It was great to see people committed to changing the way they look and feel, if only they had the answers to truly losing body fat. If only they had the kind of information that I am going to share with you.
If you want to lose any kind of excess body fat then you will definitely want to stick to doing cardio workouts. The big misconception with cardio is that the guru types will tell you that you must do it for 30 to 60 minutes. Because of this people will hop on the treadmill or elliptical machine and stare at the tube the whole time. While working out you should challenge yourself, and stay focused on your body.Of course treadmill and elliptical exercises aren’t bad for you, but you should be pushing yourself while at the gym. If you’re just staring at the tv screen you may not be getting a really good workout.
There is a ton of abdominal fat exercises that you can do in order to drop the weight. If you can constantly trick your body into thinking that the exercises are new, you will be able to avoid the infamous “plateau phase” (still working out regularly but not seeing wanted results). Your body can become bored with the same old routine very quickly, so you will want to switch up your workouts constantly.
Here is a great treadmill.
Warm-up for 3-4 minutes at a fast walk or light jog
Interval 1 - run at 8.0 mi/hr for 1 minute
Interval 2 - walk at 4.0 mi/hr for 1.5 minutes
Interval 3 - run at 10.0 mi/hr for 1 minute
Interval 4 - walk at 4.0 mi/hr for 1.5 minutes
Repeat those 4 intervals 4 times for a very intense 20-minute workout.
