Does your menstrual cycle just stop after menopause?

by admin on March 11, 2010

After you go through all the syptoms of menopause, do the monthly cycles stop on their own, or do you have to go through surgery?

Also, why are my periods so heavy and last for long periods of time? This can't be part of the menopause....or is it?

Thanks for your help.

No surgery required, its a natural process and they will stop ont here own, but spotting can still occur.
And your period being long and heavy probably has nothing to do with menopause, if they persist you should goto a doctor they should be heavy and long every month.

Yes, menustral periods will fluctuate kind of weirdly during menopause, then they will stop altogether. There is no need for surgery.

The purpose of a period is to prepare the uterus for implantation, and when you reach menopause, you are too old to bear children so your body stops going through the effort and just stops your period.
